About Diego
Hola, I'm Diego. I taught history for thirty-four years in Mexico City, and retirement finally gave me the best schedule: winters in Madrid with my grandkids, summers at home with my books. Empty hands on a flight? Not my style. If there is space above my head, there is a family waiting on the other side.
On my first trip I carried a guitar for a student studying in Madrid. I tuned it in the taxi and gave the driver an impromptu concert — five stars from both of us. Since then: comics for my grandson, guitar strings for a flamenco bar in Lavapiés, family recipes, photographs, and once an enormous sombrero in a hat box that made me briefly famous at two airports.
